Marrakech to Fes in 5 days via the desert - logistics question!
I’m finalizing my plans and I really want to do a one-way trip so I don’t have to backtrack. The idea is to start in Marrakech, see the Atlas Mountains, spend a night in the desert near Merzouga, and then end in Fes. I found a 5 days tour from Marrakech to Fes that seems to hit all those spots, which is perfect because it solves the transportation headache and includes the camel trek and camp. For anyone who’s done this exact one-way itinerary, how did you find the last day driving from Merzouga all the way to Fes? I’ve heard it’s a long day but with interesting stops like Midelt and the cedar forests. Also, any tips on what to pack for the desert night knowing you’re ending in a different city? I don’t want to overpack but also don’t want to freeze!
